Bowie & Schaffer is a boutique law firm specializing in real estate and land use, civil litigation, and business law.

We are experienced and accomplished attorneys with deep ties to the Bay Area. Between us, we have combined experience of roughly seventy years of practice.

We represent clients, both large and small, in all aspects of real property matters and business law matters. We represent clients in commercial real estate transactions, including the negotiation and documentation of purchase and sale agreements, title review, commercial lending negotiation, easement review and documentation, and related matters. We also represent landlords and tenants with regard to all aspects of commercial leasing.

We represent clients in real property-related litigation, including failure to disclose cases, easement and property line disputes, owner-contractor disputes, owner-architect disputes, common interest subdivision disputes, construction defect matters, landlord-tenant matters and neighbor disputes. We also handle regulatory actions and other actions involving governmental entities, including but not limited to, mandamus, regulatory taking, and condemnation.

We represent clients in business disputes including regarding breach of contract and fraud, insurance coverage, and financial services matters.

We also advise and represent businesses and individuals with regard to various aspects of their dealings and organizational structure, including mergers and acquisitions, secured transactions, joint ventures, formation of corporate entities and partnerships, purchase and sale agreements, and various other transactions.
